It probably wasn't the best of ideas to start fooling around with a dslr camera within weeks of Baby #2 appearing, but we still manage to get some time to play with the toy. Evening times are the best for free time, and the worst for available light...
We are slowly replacing the kit that was stolen from The Wife when she was on holiday, (it was the cleaner at a Haven Holiday Camp in the south west of England, and one day I'm going to wring the scabby little fucker's neck), one lens at a time as EBayers allows.
The insurance didn't cover the old wide angle lens so I had to try a second-hand Sigma. It's a lovely piece of work, weighty but not too ott, and the images are clear even when the light is very low. And the light is usually very low indeed by the time the wine comes out chez rolpol nowadays!
(Sigma 10-20mm lens, 2 second exposure, f4, 10mm focal length, 400 iso, saturation boosted a little in pse9)
