Still, it has been a busy, stressful time. The secondment job is difficult-to-impossible, and yet I still hold out hope that they offer me something full-time. I've been lucky enough to have two great bosses in my working life, and I want to keep working for the second one...
Things have been complicated by my proper workplace suffering a serious case of The Cuts; I have to reapply for my job, (which is annoying) and take a cut in pay (which is more than annoying). Altogether there could be 60% job losses at my level, which is acceptable if it means there are no job losses on the shop level where all the real work is done. I have, however, purchased Phillip Blond's Red Tory to figure out how all this is going to create a Big Society. I have a sneaking suspicion we should just consider ourselves lucky not to live in Greece, or worse still Egypt, right now.
Of course life is about to become 110% more complicated at home, just over a week to go 'till the Bump becomes the Boy (or Girl). Abigail's reaction to the possibility of a new brother is documented below....
